Amber is your mosaic teacher and Get Artsy owner. She has a passion for bringing out the inner artist in all her students and is dedicated to honing individual talent. Her mission is to facilitate self development, promote visual perfection, and help students find mindfulness in creativity and mosaics.
As a teacher and mentor, Amber believes in embracing and encouraging each student's artistic style. Under her guidance individuals can create unique mosaic projects in a fun and relatable way that reflect their own personalities and artistic visions.
Her eye for detail and wealth of mosaic, art and design knowledge will inspire you to reach your full creative potential and thoroughly enjoy your mosaic classes. Her attention to the finer aspects of mosaic making and her enthusiastic perfectionism instills confidence in her students whilst guiding them towards the best visual solution for their project.

Josi is our product designer and class and events assistant. She makes all your mosaic kit dreams come true!
Design is integral to Josi's life and personality as she strives to bring emotion and energy to all her creative projects and spark joy. She has explored different art mediums including, stained glass, watercolours, pottery, crocheting, sewing, and of course mosaic. She hopes to continue to extend her love for craftistry through many more ways of making and her mind is constantly full of brilliant craft ideas.
Josi’s true passion and love is lamp design. Her home is filled with lamps that she loves, many of which she has designed and made herself. Her dream to have her own lamp range combining all the different art mediums she has explored.
Growing up in a small Afrikaans town, Worcester, Josi is happy to now call Cape Town her home. She moved to the city in 2022, and now has a cozy apartment which she adores decorating

We use our formal training in art and design to produce mosaic pieces with a signature aesthetic and appreciation for design, balance and colour harmony. Our experience with student's works, custom mosaic kits and commissioned projects always motivates us towards furthering our talents. We not only deliver original pieces but also appreciate the personal growth that comes from reaching new creative milestones.
ABOUT AMBER
Amber holds a BA Honours degree with distinction in Fine Art, specialising in Printmaking, from UCT's Michaelis School of Fine Art. Amber is also a qualified professional make-up artist and worked in the television, film, fashion and editorial industry, whilst simultaneously teaching make-up and hairstyling. She has taught in the Arts in tertiary education for over 10 years, including art subjects such as illustration, drawing, art direction, photography, painting and multimedia.
After filling the role as Head of the Art Department at CityVarsity, Amber took on mosaic arts full time and continued to shape the artistic education of others by beginning her Get Artsy mosaic classes.
Amber's tenure in teaching various creative genres has informed her philosophy that the learning process is reciprocal and she learns from her students as much as they learn from her. This nuanced exchange of unique perspectives, knowledge and ideas plays a vital role in both hers and her students' creative journey.
Amber appreciates the value of helping students refine their aesthetic whilst nurturing their personal creative style. She ultimately aims to inspire adults and kids alike to discover the depth of their artistic talents whilst being true to their own style.
ABOUT JOSI
Josi holds a diploma in Interior Design from BHC School of Design in Cape Town. She additionally studied product design throughout high school and during her tertiary eduction.
Josi graduated with distinction and came third in her class at BHC. She also was awarded first in her class in product design. Not only does Josi excel creatively, she can speak three languages, namely English, Afrikaans and German.
After working in the interior design industry, Josi was seeking a more hands on approach to sparking joy through design and joined Get Artsy in 2025 as our lead product designer, class teaching assistant, and mosaic party event organiser and facilitator.
Josi is integral to making our students' and clients' mosaic journeys feel magical, fulfilling, and rewarding. She is a brilliant problem solver and always ensures the best possible result for everyone's mosaic projects, mosaic kits or mosaic party services.
