This is our exclusive beginners techniques hour to learn the basics of making mosaics before you embark on your first project. In this once-off class, you will learn about the different types of tiles and all the basic plus advanced tile cutting techniques including using glass nippers, scorers, breakers, and a diamond grinder on various sizes of tiles and sheet glass to create different shapes.

You will not make a mosaic in this lesson, but it's a perfect opportunity to learn and practice some new skills, which will give you confidence in understanding the possibilities of mosaic projects and what their individual processes would entail.

You can also use this time to chat to us about any project ideas you may have before committing to weekly classes where you can then go on to make a mosaic.

You do not need to do this class before joining us for weekly classes as beginners are always welcome to jump straight in, but we recommend it if you have never mosaiced before as there are many tools and cutting techniques to learn, which can help you to visualise your first project.
